demi-goddess - two - worshiped by none - asteraia
"Well that could have gone better," I said out loud as I walked back into the land of Asteraia. I wouldn't say that my time in Iromar had been a disaster, but I was sure it could have gone better. The new alpha pair (what were their names again?) had welcomed me nicely enough, if not a little oddly. I had offered my silver tongued introduction and it seemed to work well enough to allow them to let me stay with them. While there, I had gathered enough information, at least in my opinion, to bring back to the Monster. She could take it and use it to decide the future relationship between the two packs. With that in my mind, I set out to find the alpha
It took me a bit longer then I should have. The summer sun was too hot to travel in for longer than an hour or so. When I didn't fine the Monster in her den, I tried to track her down by scent. But, the funny thing about alphas, their scent is literally everywhere! After resting in my own den for a little while, I started the search again and finally found her dark form resting next to the river. Thank the wolven gods! At least we could be cool while I debriefed her. With my tail low and my bright, blue eyes avoiding her stern gaze, I moved towards the Monster and cleared my throat to announce my presence. Not that it was needed, I was sure. Chances were she had already heard me approaching long before.
"Greetings, Monster. I have returned from Iromar with some news on the new leaders." It was really hard for me to act so formal, but wasn't most meetings with the queen supposed to be as such? Never mind the fact that I had once threatened to bite her toes not too long ago. The hot sun made the very grass burn under my paws and I didn't wait for her invitation before I all but dove into the cool water. Soaking myself to the bone, I sighed in relief before greedily lapping the liquid up.
