This winter had been different than any other and the first one Ame thought he was struggling with slightly. Hunting was hard for them. It usually was that when they couldn’t hunt large prey Ame could at least hunt rabbits but while he was smaller and lithe the rabbits could glide across the icy surface with so much ease. He was a bit leaner but not unhealthily so. They were managing to scrape by and if worse came to worse Ame knew Diveen likely would take them in. So far he was avoiding that. Me knew they would be fine though. Winter was starting to draw to a close so not much longer for the lean times. Today though Ame was wandering not to hunt or work but to meet with someone.

Halcyon had asked to meet with him and talk about something. It sounded important. Halcyon had been living with himself and Jackson for a bit now but it was different how he had asked him to come and talk. Something must have happened or he wanted to see something done. It was no secret that Iromar had a new ruler, that the past ruler, the one who passed the pack to him before he stepped down, was dead. The circumstances, even to Ame, were sketchy at best, but he didn’t know what other circumstances were around what had happened. He wondered if it was about that, but the slate and tan male couldn’t be certain until they met.

When he arrived in the area he was shortly greeted by the familiar scent and sounds of Halcyon. He turned to face him his own tail waving lightly blue and gold eyes fixing on Halcyon’s own brown ones. He speaks then and Ame immediately dismisses any trouble Halcyon might have thought he had brought upon his long time friend. He would do about anything for Halcyon if it would help his friend out. He started with something relaxing though pleasant talk surely before the serious conversation would set it. Ame settled himself down, Halcyon joining him then before replying.

”This one is doing as well as one can. You know as well as this one that winter has been difficult. We all will make it though.” He says smiling warmly. ”It has been a while, but little has changed, this one has gone home to see family not too long ago and they were doing well. This one hopes maybe father will be less strict on himself. He seems full of regret.” He says somberly before returning the smile upon his maw. ”And you? What news comes from your old home?”
