The male had planned to fully explain himself. Hoping to craft an apology to make up for his foolish actions. But all he managed to do was stand there with a vacant mind, looking almost as pathetic as he felt. The female turned slowly to face him, but the anger present before was no longer there. In its place was something entirely different. Sadness

The male had fully expected her to be angered again, once she saw him. But the female in front of him looked like a beaten pup. The look had gripped him, making him feel even worse than he did. He preferred the anger, over the broken look she gave him now. There was several seconds of awkward silence, and just when the male had worked up enough courage to talk, she spoke first.

The response from the she-wolf had been spoken softly, and afterwards she hung her head in shame. If it was possible for the dark male to feel any worse, it had come there. He was the one to wound her pride, and then she blamed herself. She spoke of loneliness, something the male wolf had experienced far too much.

"I understand what you feel," he looked away slightly, ashamed of himself, and continued. "I know what it's like to be alone, to be out here without anyone to rely on. Even when you think you get used to it, deep down it's still hard." The male's heart held pain at the memories of his words, and he hoped he'd done a good job of hiding it on his face. He hadn't intended to speak like he did, and forced himself to look back at her before continuing.

"It wasn't right of me to treat you like it did, and I hope you can understand that I didn't mean to insult you. To put it simply, it was quite... nice to meet another, but I know my actions showed nothing of the sort. If...," he stammered, " if it's possible I'd like to introduce myself properly."

He looked her squarely in the face, starring deep those silver eyes of hers. He attempted to gain back some of his lost confidence, but the male couldn't help but fear that the female would turn him away. Nonetheless he waited patiently for her response.
