The Grotto
Disaster has struck!

He had never understood why some wolves looked to the stars as if they held all the answers. They were just stars in the end. Not ancesters looking down proudly on everything you've accomplished. Not your close family members watching over you from heaven. Just stars. Bright things in the night sky that sparkle and betray the mind with ideas of beauty and heavenly purpose when really they don't even do a good job of lighting the way. The moon tends to do a better job of that. He used to wander off a lot growing up. At first, Kronos and he were inseperable but when Kronos started going solo, so did Cuirass. He didn't hesitate just because he was used to having a brother beside him. Even apart, he could feel Kronos with him and that was enough. Cuirass liked this place. It was one of his favorite places to go. The darkness felt all encompassing here, a place with no shadows, only dark. You have to have light to have shadows, after all. There was no mask or mystery here, only the creatures that were drawn to that darkness. Maybe that's why Cuirass was still drawn here. But something else was here, drawing him further in. And then he caught a whiff of her and his entire focus changed. He set forth with more purpose, his stride lengthening as he took off into a run, wanting to see her more than anything. He figured as a bonus, he could run up on her and maybe cause her some shock or at least surprise. Of course, he was aware that her first instinct might be to attack in defense but he was sure enough of his own skills that he could hold his own, even if the last thing he wanted to do was hurt her. She was the reason he had come back, after all. Her giggle gave her away but by the time he reached the spot he was sure that she was, she was gone, like a ghost. He could hear echoes of sounds throughout the grotto. The swish of a tail, the breath falling from panting lips. He wasn't even sure if all of it was from her but he had to try. He knew by now that she was playing a game with him. Of course, she would. His own lips tugged into a smirk as he took off with new determination. He lt his voice echo through the caverns. "YOU'RE NOT GOING TO MAKE THIS EASY. I DON'T IMPUTE YOU. I DID TAKE AWAY YOUR FAVORITE EYE CANDY, AFTER ALL." He turned another corner, using his nostrils to catch stronger whiffs of her scent and using the bare sounds he could pick up to try to follow. He wasn't sure if he was doing a horrible job or halfway decent but either way, he knew he wouldn't stop until he could see her again.
