Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

I am Orb.
Her smile could light up the darkest cavern, he was sure. It wasn't one of those fake polite smiles that you give to someone when you want them to just shut up and go away and it's not the bright dimply smile that makes you hate yourself because they just make it look so easy. Her smile made him feel somehow lighter inside, like he had suddenly sprouted wings or something so silly as that. He couldn't get enough of it.
Yet, Bandit always seemed to find a way to ruin the perfect moment. As he always does, he opened his big trap and sent her recoiling like he'd just tried to strike at her like a snake. Hers ears flicked back and he could find his inner voice saying "no, no, no, come back!" Luckily she didn't run off or anything so dramatic but he could tell he had taken a big dip in her favor. He felt deflated like a child's balloon.
Her expression softened but the words were scolding when she offered them and Orb's ears flicked back as his head ducked in shame and submission. He hated that he had disappointed her.
"I'M SO SORRY. YOU'RE RIGHT."
He knew that he couldn't just keep handing out sorry's and expect her to keep dismissing the foul language of Bandit but for now, he didn't know what else to say. If he could just apologize beforehand, maybe he would feel a little bit better but as it were, he knew that apologizing wouldn't change the way he is. It never had before. Besides, Bandit hated a smart mouthed female.
"MEET ME IN A DARK CAVERN SOME NIGHT AND I'LL SHOW YOU ALL THE MANNERS IN THE WORLD, BABY."
He growled the words in a dark tone, the latino accent strong as Bandit licked his lips slowly, but luckily she couldn't see that since Orb was in control. Something quivered down his backbone though at the thought of Bandit ever touching Elowen. She was so sweet and pure. Orb felt something almost possessive inside of him, maybe a side of Diesel wanting to protect her, coming up in him. His lips twitched.
"NO. YOU STOP TALKING TO HER LIKE THAT. SHE'S A LADY."
The words fell from his lips with finality before he had a chance to think about it. Had he really just talked back to Bandit? He never did that. He usually let Bandit and Diesel have it out then he would just continue his conversation when they were done. Something about Elowen triggered something inside of him. He wasn't sure that he didn't like it.
He could tell she was still trying to figure him out and he probably wasn't helping any, the way he kept going on with Bandit, but he had defend her honor, right? That was the gentlemanly thing to do. Diesel gave him an approving look and even Mags had lifted her head some to blink at him in wonder.
When he gave his name, she repeated it softly. It sounded so much better coming from her lips than his own. He began to like his name a little bit more. He used to always think it rather dull and boring but somehow Elowen made it sound mystical and even amazing. I was hanging off of every word she said and Mags was quickly becoming a fan as well but Bandit couldn't stop his mouth from running. She lifted her lip and Orb recoiled a little, ears falling back again as he lowered his full body to the ground this time, offering her yet another physical apology, this one a little more dramatic.
When she got up and started toward him, Orb stiffened a little in shock. The closer she got, the more muddled his mind felt, like she was taking down a barrier he had wrapped it up in. He looked up at her with a quizzical expression, tilting his head as she spoke. Did she really think what he'd said was that interesting? He had never considered himself an interesting wolf. Could his luck be changing?
And yet, the more he looked up into her pretty face, the lighter he felt on his feet. A slow smile tugged across his lips.
"IT MAY WELL BE CLOSER THAN YOU THINK, ELOWEN."
