OK,it is time that I address a few things. I had some time this weekend to ponder the thoughts that have been layed out here. First off we need both track lengths due to various pulling venues. Second, the history behind the pro-stock tires is there got to be such a variation in tires. People were soaking them in everything from diesel fuel to acetone. The KRD tires were softer but once again soaked. Ron Kunke then brought out the Hi Life tires. These tires leveled the playing field, then Larry Bennett came up with a little better compound. Larry Ubben had a great point, this is a spec tire class. This is our legacy class. In the case of the small engines,there are plenty of them yet. In my opinion silicone tires are not the answer. We would have to spec a foam to make it equal for everyone. Lastly, there's all this talk about rule changes,but I haven't heard from one state Rep. Just my thoughts, Jay
