The world around her was in perfect balance. Sun and moon both sharing the sky in a harmony that brought a tear to her eyes.the sun lit up the sky with is brilliant golds and pastels. In the west the moon still wore its cloak of night but called the stars and darkness it descend with it. It was a magical moment and all she could do was breath it in. Breath in the magic and beauty that would hopefully bring her a spark of life.
But the darkness lingered. The world was not in balance. Her father was dead and her brother was suffering the feeling of his soul seeping from him into nothing. She watched him slowly deteriorate with nothing she could do to help him. The darkness, it seemed, was trying to gripe the world and rip it from the light.
Her chest twisted at the thought, her breath coming in a short gasp as she tried to stabilize herself. Golden form almost stumbled as she regained a sense of who and where she was, so lost had she been in the balance of the circles above her. Her ears pressed briefly to her neck, and she decided she needed to do something, anything. The balance demanded it. Her creamy gold body seemed to move independently of her thoughts. Padding down the paths twisting through the plains until movement caught her attention. She watched for a moment a rabbit being followed by a very young looking puppy. She smiled to herself, instantly reminded of the good of the world and the endless games she had played with Veli in her childhood. Giving them both a wide berth, she slowly and carefully came up from behind the pup, wondering vaguely if he would have thought enough of scenting the air. If he had, he would have been informed of her presence before she came upon him. Carefully, she let out a soft ‘woof’ as she approached. Little one, stay low. She said gently, her voice kind and sweet. Some could have said the words in patronizing tones, but she merely spoke them without a single note of ill. If you stay still, it may come to you. If you do not hurt it, it may play. There had been many a times she had befriended families of rabbits, protecting them against wolves that would try to eat them. They had trusted her, at least, and had played. In the forests during days long past they had been her friends. Perhaps they could do the same with the ones here, saving others outside of this family for food.
