Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Tree after tree I tried to count as I walked through the endless forest. But it didn’t serve to distract me as first intended. I’ve stopped in 23 before the sounds of the wild night caught my attention again. My head turned around to find more dark trees surrounding me and it was then that I took a moment to look back, wondering if not too far away my parents were searching for me. I stopped and lowered my head, taking a deep breath and continuing forward, sniffing at the ground as I found my way to… Somewhere. I just needed a shelter.

After walking for a bit more with no success I finally found a big tree with roots extending around it, forming strange patterns. This would have to do. With a small grunt I just stepped between a couple of roots and laid down there, looking around before I rested my head over a paw, curling into a ball mostly. The roots weren’t high enough to hide my white fur at all and the wind made it hard to sleep after a long rain and my paws, legs and side still stained with mud. The rain hasn’t been enough to wash it off. Haven’t found a river or anything since I got here.

But I won’t regret anything I did. This is my own adventure and if this is how it starts then it shall be. Others will talk about me in the future. All I have to do is leave this part out when I tell my story. Perhaps I could change it a little. Heh… Behold! The wolf who defeated a cougar in his first day without his parents or a pack!
