Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

this is the end

His thoughts never lingered away from her for long. Now that he'd gotten a taste of Malleah, he was horribly addicted and he didn't care. He trusted that what she said was true, that it wouldn't be long before she would be free of the male who bound her and she would come back to him. He had no choice but to trust in her. He knew she owed him nothing. He hated himself every day for not being there when he promised to take care of her and her children. Now she had more young pups to take care of and he would step up if needed. Even if they weren't his, he would be the wolf he was supposed to be for her four years ago and he would take care of them all. He wanted to show her that he could be the wolf for her, if only she would give him a second chance. He wondered if she would bring the new children the next time he saw her. Surely she must have birthed them by now. He hoped she was okay. He hated not knowing and he had fought himself not to go see her, not to just get a glimpse, just enough to know she was okay.

He wondered what she would look like when he saw her. Would she be in high spirits after giving birth or would she have let herself go? He knew just from his short experience with her that she seemed to punish herself a lot for things she had no control over. Would she be punishing herself now? He hoped not. He wanted her well fed, healthy, and more importantly, at his side. He wanted that more than anything. When the howl sounded out, his ears pricked though and his whole body went rigid. He knew without a doubt that it was Malleah and that he would have her once again. He threw up his own head, sending her a return call, wanting her to know that he was indeed coming, that he would always come for her. With a swish of his tail, he took off toward the sound, eager to have her pressed against his skin once more. He didn't care about the future or what they would become, only that she was in his future. He didn't want anything from her other than her company. He had thought about pups before, about being the parent his own father wasn't, but that wasn't as important as having his best friend and love of his life by his side. If she didn't want pups then he would never ask it of her. He only wanted her happiness.

He slowed down only when he saw the water up ahead and more importantly, her elegant, if a little on the skinny side, figure wading into the water. He slowed to a walk, pausing to watch, his head tilting as she tried to catch a fish. When she dove under the water, he held his breath, secretly cheering her on but when she come up empty handed, he only gave a soft smile, sighing in contentment, happy just to see her again. He moved up closer to the water.

"I WAS ACTUALLY TAUGHT A GOOD METHOD FOR HOW TO FISH WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. SHALL I TEACH YOU?"

His eyes glittered, a little teasing but mostly just pure bliss to have her back in his line of sight again. Now if only he could keep her here.
