Alistair continued to watch the male, his expression slightly guarded, although the reply that floated from the other male's lips piqued his curiosity. 'I'm waiting for someone. It seemed, however, that once he gave his name, the stranger seemed to recognize it. The deaf male, admittedly, was slightly alarmed by this- why would this wolf that he had never seen before recognize his name? Who had, just moments before, been pacing strangely through the trees? His white eyes, however, betrayed none of his trepidation, his face a mask of neutrality with a touch of slightly patronizing curiosity. He had never come across someone who acted so strangely, and for the first time, Alistair felt uncomfortable not being able to hear the intonation of the other's words. His smile almost felt... threatening. No, perhaps he was reading too far into this. He took a breath and let his shoulders relax.
'I do, actually.' Alistair's eyes hovered on the stranger's lips, flickering back briefly to meet his eyes whenever he should take pause in his words. 'I was waiting for you, Alistair. Zelda sent me. It seems we are to work together on this whole Glorall situation.' If the younger male could laugh, he would have- the closest thing to it was a sort of half-smile that just barely reached his eyes. "Waiting for me, you say." His words contained the barest hints of humor, face uncharacteristically amused for a man so often staunchly serious.
"I suppose you would have called for me. I also may be right in assuming that Lady Zelda did not tell you about the fact that you should have sought me out by scent or sight." He paused for a moment, letting his ears fall flat against his head as he was wont to do as a child. "I cannot hear calls, nor the words you are speaking. My apologies for taking your impatience in waiting for me as something less... sensible. But yes, I am Alistair. It is a pleasure to meet you, Sir..." He tilted his head slightly, perhaps a wolf with a bit more cadence could ask for a name more directly, but the male had made do with what he was given.
He did not stay on the subject for long- for a deaf wolf, Alistair could be surprisingly long-winded and launched immediately into the far more important matter at hand. He was not entirely sure how he felt working with a stranger on such a sensitive mission, but if Lady Zelda trusted this male, then he felt it was only right for him to trust him as well. "Lady Zelda has filled you in on the information I presented to her." It was a question, but with the lack of intonation it sounded more like a malformed directive. He sat across from the other male, his face becoming firm once more. "I am curious as to what you think... I have gone over everything so many times, that perhaps fresh thoughts will do the situation good..."
