Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He laughed, ears flicking forward as she gave him toothy grin, telling him how she had a pass. He shook his head.

"I don't remember handing those out but I guess if anyone would get one, it's you. Of course, you probably stole it."

Now it was his turn to give her a toothy grin. Somehow he believed that any who thought to cross either of them would be met with two firm sets of fangs at this point. If there was anything they hadn't forgotten in the four years he was gone, it was how to be best friends. He already felt like they were thick as thieves, even though there was a slight feeling that perhaps he wasn't quite looking at her like a friend anymore. There was something more, something that made his chest tighten when she smiled and his eyes brighten when she laughed. Just the sight of her made his heart pound now and when she fixed him with that daring look she often got...well, his legs might as well be jello. When she brought up being kidnapped, he saw something cross her features but he couldn't quite put his paw down on it. It was almost like she was thinking back to that time and sure there was sadness in those eyes, a sadness that he hated with every fiber of his being and knew that he would give anything to wipe those hurtful feelings from her and never let them return.

But there was something else, something more, like maybe there was a part of it that didn't exactly traumatize. Of course, he wouldn't know what she had been through. He didn't even know who kidnapped her but he didn't want to broach that subject in case she didn't want to talk about it. If she wanted to open up to him some day about everything then he wouldn't mind being a good listening ear, but otherwise he would never push Inanna for her story. Sometimes things were just too personal. He told her of his story since he wanted her to know, his own thoughts recalling that he often wondered what she was doing at any point in time and if she was thinking of him too. He wondered what they would be doing if they were together by that river or when he was just wandering through the wilderness. Surely he would have had a lot more fun. She started nibbling on a bone but he noted that her teeth slowed as he brought up Talien and how she was connected to him. He saw something flicker in her eyes and he wondered with a hopeful thought that it was jealousy.

She studied him for a moment but then nudged him for a more specific answer and his lips tugged into a small smirk. So she was going to make him spell it out for her. Fine. He was never shy about his thoughts so why start now?

"Yeah, you know. What's left of my family is here in Glorall and surrounding packs and more specifically...whatever this is I have with you. If there's more to it than just reuniting friends, then I want to explore that before I just follow the path Fate laid out for me. If you feel differently, then tell me now."

His eyes softened as he looked at her, waiting for her response, whatever it may be. Though outright rejection would hurt, he would rather know now than keep up the flirting game in hopes that she would catch on and tell him how she was really feeling. He wasn't asking for her to be his right this minute or anything. He didn't expect to just come back home and find a mate all in one day. All he wanted was a clue, a hint, something. Anything to let him know he wasn't completely blind of the signs that she wasn't interested. When she admitted that her imprint was attractive and charming, one ear flicked back in disappointment. Oh well, so much for hoping he was a straight bore and she had no use for him. Her next words caught his breath in his throat through, ears pricking forward as if to make sure she had just said what he was sure he had just heard. Then he was smiling, an ear to ear grin that almost hurt his cheeks. His tail started wagging; he just couldn't help himself.

When she asked if he loved Talien, that was an easy one. He shook his head.

"No, it's not love. More like a protective instinct. I want to know she's safe and happy and I get a sense of what she's feeling every so often but love? No, I wouldn't call it that unless it was like a brother loves a sister."

His gaze softened.

"It's nothing like what I feel for you."
