Sharp juvenile teeth crunched and grinded the turtle's skull until the meat and cartilage became malleable enough to swallow. It was an interesting flavor, different from the morsels Enya had brought us at the den. "Mmm, tasty," I mused before moving to lower my head once more and pluck a fin from my little snack. But an ear flicked to the side as the nearby birds suddenly took flight, alerting me to another's presence just as the notes of her speech floated across the beach to me. I hovered for a moment over the hatchling's headless corpse before my bright eyes turned towards the source. I was displeased to be interrupted when I was clearly trying to enjoy my snack. That was, until I got a look at just who was coming to make my acquaintance.
My head lifted slowly, eyes locked on the sway of her hips as a small smile curved the edges of my maw. Well, well, well, what did we have here? That she was older than me didn't even matter - this gal was one hell of a looker. Her words seemed to echo in my mind, little killer, and I stood up a little straighter. I was young, but nothing about me was little. And a killer? Hmm, the label made me seem like some kind of malefactor - and maybe I was, or would be at least. My tongue washed slowly across my lips as she drew nearer, stopping a short distance away. A single brow rose as she indicated the nearby carcass, messy and left to bake in the sun.
"Naw, but what a waste." The paw poised atop the back edge of the sea turtle's shell twisted slightly, pivoting the remains of the hatchling towards her. Maybe she was hungry for more than just the dastardly good looking fellow that I was, and the fresh kill might entice her to come closer. "You must be new around here - I sure as hell wouldn't have forgotten seeing you before." My grin pulled more to one side than the other, confident in my ploys, even if they'd only ever been tested out on my sister before.
