The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

The brown pelted girl watched and waited for a short time. Though once her decision was made she moved forward with a purpose. As she got closer she couldn’t avoid thinking how… well huge she was compared to the small three-legged wolfess. Pushing the thought aside she watched as the female take some moss from the cave wall. She thought she could remember moss was used to press on wounds to soak up the blood, but she wasn’t sure. She always wanted to learn healing but never had a good moment to ask Spraine’s healer, Niviaq, to teach her. But then she had her litter and then all the chaos with the pack being lost then regained later. Then when she pondered being heir and then Pan passed away… Never seemed like an opportune time for Moonstone to ask her about it.

Now she was here and a loner healer was staring her in the face. Her tail waved slightly as the other female smiled and nodded in response to her question. She replied that it had been something she’s been doing since she was very young and Moonstone wished that she might have done the same with any skill at all when she was little. Now was better than never though assuming this female would even be interested in taking some random stranger in as a student. But Moonstone thought maybe the could work out some kind of deal if nothing else.

”Yes, very! I have been interested for some time, but our old healer has slown down and many things keep happening in my pack to not allow the stability for me to learn.” She says, ears pinning back against her head slightly before letting her masked face turn elsewhere as she looked around the cave. ”So you can find healing plants even down here?” She gently poked the question out there, a bit amazed. She couldn’t imagine Niviaq having the energy to get down here to gather, so maybe there were substitutes or other ways to get what she needed in Spirane? She didn’t know but Moonstone was eager to find out what she could from the girl today.

”Oh and my name is Moonstone! Sorry that was… fairly rude of me not to say sooner. I was just so enamored with everything. Even this place! I never really wandered away from the mountains much until recently.” She admitted sheepishly turning her lavender and blue flecked eyes back to the wolfess and offering a soft smile once more.
