Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Masque

Wintery nips in the air called to her wandering spirit like a siren’s song out to sea. Any shift in the seasons and the world begged her to come and explore what new changes could be found in the world around her. Being the creature she was, Masque had no choice and no will power that would prevent her from answering the calls. Nothing in particular was calling to her consciousness today. The fair folk of the world were content in their lives, also preparing for the coming of winter. They were just as content to watch her race by as she was to let them go about their business. When one was not in danger, she need not bother them during this busy time! There were sure to be others who were idle she could entertain or at least new places to find and explore.

She came to the fields and slowed her pace. Black nose twitched in the wind as she surveyed the landscape. This had been her mother’s favorite place as well as Tithe’s. She could see why they enjoyed the place. It was vast and open, easy to see what was around them and what could come upon them. But there was little mystery and few places to hide. It seemed almost too revealing and open. The girl smiled to herself, thinking she might be able to find a way to change that! She heard a tumble in the distance and a voice. Interested, she padded over to investigate. There was a boy staring sadly down a rabbit hole. At once, Masque thought she knew what was wrong. It was the same curse that plagued her. The fairies were busy, and they were bored. Hey! she yapped, bounding up to him all of a wiggle with her tail flying behind her. The fairies are storing up for the winter! Maybe we can help them! It was not as gallant of a quest as rescuing them, or trying to knock down tries or dig up holes. But it was still something to do! Maybe they could find some furs for the cold fae. They could find some extra furs for themselves, too, in the event of a cold winter.
