He was so out of his element it was weird. He just never really been around any other pups before. Noctis though, unlike the other boy, had been well versed in the other packs, the alphas and royalty within. It was only right to know who was in all the high places. Daenerys in Spirane. Zelda in Taviora. Eden in Glorall. Halcyon and Aster in Asteraia. Then the newest additions of Pine and Cenmatl in Iromar. He knew that there were different packs, they had their own scent markers and despite the fact the boy was a distance away Noctis recognized it as Asteraia just because it was close to Diveen. Who would have thought that information might have been useful. All his mother’s droning on actually maybe could be something useful.

What was more the boy stopped his play to speak, Noctis, not wanting to be rude quickly replied. ”Noctis.” And he smelled funny? He wasn’t sure what he could have rolled in, his mom kept him so clean that there was no way he could smell bad. ”What do you mean… funny?” He asked this boy, Fenyang or Fen he guessed he liked to be called. He wasn’t sure what to do, he took a tentative step forward but stopped so it was fun just splashing around in the water like that? Noct didn’t care about getting dirty he just wanted to talk to someone else, maybe make friends.

Right now though all her lessons in being a ‘King’ weren’t helping him. He stood still just watching, he didn’t even immediately notice the girl there too so transfixed upon the louder male that originally drew his attention. He only noticed when it was nearly far too late. Starting with a jump and step back away from the sudden appearance of the monochrome girl. He didn’t know her scent, but he was knowing enough to know she wasn't a loner pup at least. He simply stared at her, confused, uncertain. He wanted to get out here and do something but now that he was here, what did he do with a bunch of other kids? One thing was for sure, they didn’t know who he was, with them he could be anyone he wanted.

The girl hurriedly asked if he was coming to join them, taking off really before he could muster up any form of reply. He watched as she flew in, water crashing all around her. Noct’s tail gave a few nervous waves watching for a few moments as they splashed about together before taking a deep breath and running at them all at Fen’s encouragement.

The grey boy didn’t stop, not even when he felt the water splash around him, what stopped him instead where his big feet and tripping over falling face first in the water and being consumed by it. He floundered about for a time before he was able to make heads or tails again popping his head up once again above the surface with a gasp of air, pretty certain he must looked like a drown rat as his overly large ears sat angled on his head and his gold eyes went from the girl to Fen wondering if he was doing this right.
