Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

& WE ARE THE DYING
WE ARE THE DAMNED
Lush with greenery and budding flowers, the forest feels alive despite its silence. From the south, a gentle fog rolls in, slowly creeping through the low-lying grass and tangling itself between bushes. It collides with her ashen legs and melds with them almost seamlessly as she jogs eastward. She is quite used to the cold silence of the north, but after a while of travelling through the forest she begins to feel that this is not entirely normal. Spring brings new life, chirping babies, singing lovers and all of the wood creature noises. The overcast skies cause the coppice to seem darker beneath the thick branches, only adding to the ominous feeling that weighs down on her. There was something else here and everyone but her knew it.

A light breeze trickled through the trees at her back and brought no foreign scent with it; however she knew that the wind was not on her side this time. Whoever this other may be would likely be stalking in front of or to either side of her without her knowing. The softened ground help mask the sound of paw steps and further put her on edge as she continued forward.

Her heart beat heavily against her chest and her eyes scanned the area apprehensively in search for any possible threat to her life. A flash of golden-orange behind the green of the trees cause her look quickly to the right before realizing it was just a flowering bush. Her breaths picked up and her paws moved quicker, ears turning about like radars atop her fox-like head. The sudden noise of a woodpecker rattling against a tree trunk sends her jumping and turning to catch sight of the larger wolf ready to lunge at her left side. A yelp of surprise is triggered as she maneuvers backward swiftly, her ears pinning down against her skull and teeth bared in defense. Her fur bristles upon end to make herself appear more formidable and her deep pink eyes gleam with warning.

A low, barely audible growl rumbles continuously within her throat as she hunches herself to protect it from the gargantuan female. She had her fair share of near-death experiences in the tundra, but most were those she could outrun. Myrria tried to keep her eyes on the female all while checking to see if there was a quick exit available to her at any moment. She wasn’t going to die today.
