The other pup’s excitement was toxic. IT spread and made his dark features light up at the sight of it. He founds his own tail of black starting to wag behind him in reaction. She hopped up and down and he found himself stand tall and his ears pulling forward. He could not let his green eyes leave her in this moment. Another pup, and she was excited to see him! He had his sister, but he had not met anyone else his age yet.
He had tumbled a bit though, as he was not experienced yet...along with being an awkward pup. She asks him if he is okay, and he does give a nod in reaction. He...at least thought he understood what she said there. He understood that she gave him her name, Lucia. It had similarities to the word light in his Latin tongue. His own name meant Life in the Latin tongue, and he felt it completely appropriate that this girl held her name. He straightened up after his tumble, but his questions did not seem to make sense to her. She made a face and said some things, but he was not able to put together what it is she said. He understood only a few words, and he felt a frown pulling on his lips. He knew there were two languages, but his parents preferred Latin. They said it was the pure language, and this one the girl speaks is not. Sure, he does not understand why this is, and honestly it makes no sense to him, but mother and Grandmother ensure that he learned some of it...just he has not learned enough not obviously.
She comes towards him though, and her demeanor is still friendly, so his frown fades into a smile again, simply happy to be next to her, and she continued to question him. He was able to put together that she was asking what he was saying, and figured she didn’t know Latin...but why would that stop them from playing?
”Latin...you, is no...speak,” he says, carefully and slow since he was a bit more unsure of this language. ”Common tongue...speak no well,” he says, hoping that he says enough for her to understand. It was then that an older wolf interjected, and he couldn’t help with lower his ears as his eyes darted to her. He did not feel...welcomed by her tone and look, at least not how welcoming the light before him was. They were quite opposite. The young girl was brightly colored and her personality matched. The dark woman simply did not hold what the other puppy did, but what could he do? Adults were adults. Apparently pups were not allowed to play alone...he would still play if given the chance though. He didn’t know what to make of what the adult said, but the girl of light came closer to him, and he knew that she asked what his name was. He leaned in, trying to whisper in her ear, ”Aeon,” he said, losing his footing slightly and shoving his nose in the direction of her inner ear. He yelped quietly as he tried to right himself, likely bumping into her further. Why was his body not doing what he wanted? How was his supposed to impress and play with Lucia when it won’t even do what he says? He lowers his ears again, green eyes darting from Lucia to the dark woman- more concerned with being punished by the dark woman than Lucia. ”She...going...mad?” he asks Lucia, unsure of what to make of the situation yet.
