The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.
This is no ordinary love

In the dead-heat of summer, the steel-colored mare was forced to find shelter in the oasis, keeping her in relative close proximity to Koray despite her best intentions to stay as far away from him as possible. She would doze within the shade of the garden's tall palm trees, counting down the minutes until the sun would begin to dip from its highest point in the sky, and only stir fully once it had disappeared beyond the horizon at the end of the sea.

The stars were only beginning to twinkle overhead in the violet sky when she awoke from a later afternoon nap on this particular day. Vita Nova wasn't in a fine mood -- she never was these days -- but she wasn't feeling as sour and cynical as usual. She was curios about Evren, who had confided in her somewhat about some fantastic plan she had that drew her away from the island. It was on Nova now to make sure Koray wouldn't follow her, the way he had on her last elusive trip to the Crossing Isle. Whatever Evren was planning, Koray could not know about it. This vague sense of purpose improved her spirits, somewhat. It gave her something to do.

Hours passed, and Nova took her usual strolls over the dunes, but never strayed too far from the oasis. Whenever she smelled Koray too prominently in the passing wind, she'd turn face and track the other way. That is, until something so strange and unexpected happened.

The young mare froze dead in her tracks when she head her name ring out through the darkness. One grey ear lobe twitched, swiveling slowly back to front, as she tried to gauged where the voice was coming from. And then it came again. Oswin. Nova hadn't seen her sister since that day she ambled into the Desert many, many months ago. She knew Oswin was out to find Nephilim. But what would ever draw her back to Salem? Was it Nephilim? The sense of urgency in her voice terrified her.

"OSWIN!" She returned the call, her whinny shrill and nearly shrieking. She set off in the direction of the call, which led back to the oasis, at an impressive gallop. Eventually two dark figures came into view, and Nova snorted and pushed on when she recognized them to be her sister and the stallion that owned her. She skidded to a halt, sending sand in every which direction, while the sides of her barrel heaved.

"Oswin, stay away from him." She said between exasperated breathes. "He's unpredictable. Dangerous."
