Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

For days fear had hounded me. That silver muzzled boy in Glorall had threatened to tatter my ear and then chased me from the seaside pack that I had lived in for several seasons and now I couldn't find Zharko! I tried hunting my brother down but the truth was, no one ever taught me how to track. I barely knew how to hunt and that was strictly on small things. It was easier in Glorall where I could meander the beach until I came across a crab or some other sea creature that wasn't fast or particularly smart. The wildlife out here knew what it was doing and I didn't so often I ended up scaring it. Not to mention the memory of the sound of my half-sister's body being ripped and beaten still haunted me.

The woods were the safest but also scariest place to be. The shadows could hide a wolf but they could also hide me. I had found a bolt hole that a fox had used and cleared it out to make it a bit bigger. The unfortunate thing is, I was no longer the tiny pup I used to be. Instead I was halfway grown and with it long legs that made crouching and crawling into it difficult without banging my shoulders into stubborn roots and rocks.

The river was nearby from my bolt hole and I was thirsty after having hunted nearly all morning. I ended up with nothing and it made my belly ache with the missed meal yet throwing a fit would give me nothing. I was dangerously close to tears at my luck. My ear was safe and sound, despite being half deaf anyways, and I was once more on my own! Would Zharko realize that his friend was the one who made me disappear? I was certain that the boy had intended to harm me and I was no fighter. I was, to put it bluntly, nothing. Just a girl who was lost from the moment of birth and has stumbled around for almost three years trying to keep afloat. What a pathetic wolf I was.

I'm so immersed in my thoughts that I don't even realize there is another wolf at the river but when he turns, I freeze, my bright blue-green eyes widening as my breath stops short. Then I squeak, quivering slightly in my haunches, as I clearly rock back as if deciding whether to flee or to stay. "S-s-sorry!" I sputter out, feeling myself heat beneath my fur at just how DUMB I sounded and how scared I looked, but damnit if he wasn't frightful with his hackles up like that. If he took one step towards me, I decided, I was running. Just too bad I wasn't particularly fast either!
