�I don�t have to be a stranger.� Zevulun countered with a tease. To her comment of his mother, Zevulun said nothing. It was customary for a mother to raise her child, true, and Zevulun�s upbringing had been somewhat different. His mother had left when he was very young, though they weren�t certain to where. Maziel�s mother had done the same to her when she was his age, and Mariael�s mother was a special circumstance. The three Tinuvel siblings had no mothers, really, but they�d had a father and they had each other. As he and this beautiful lady had only just met, Zevulun decided to gloss over the comment rather than pull attention toward it.

�My name�s Zevulun, but you can call me Zevu, if you�d like.� Another little smile. He�d noticed she stepped back, but didn�t yet step forward, allowing her a small moment to herself.

Zevulun gave a snort and chuckled, bowing his head. �I�m old enough to court ladies, I can assure you.� His trips to Crossing hadn�t been entirely fruitless, there was a reason he was traveling quite frequently. �Tinuvel�s not just ice and snow, you know. There�s forests and caverns, and even hot springs if you know the right place to go.�

He took a small step forward, shining knowingly, as if to silently convey he knew she�d drawn a step back from him but he challenged that space as playfully as he�d chased her. �Aren�t you going to tell me what I can call you? It�s going to be a long winter snuggled up together in a cave if I don�t even know your name.�
