It did not go unnoticed to Halcyon that the woman chose to stay outside of the den. For a moment, his ears fell flat as he wondered what would cause her to do that and his mind began to form strange ideas. Maybe she did not know this illness was not contagious, at least, Viserys had said as much. Or did she want to respect his privacy and not enter an alpha's home? Looking around, he wondered if maybe his home smelled of the illness that wafted off him. Either way, he knew he should not take her choice personally. It could even be that she sat at the entrance to trap the heat in the den. Remaining grateful for her help, Halcyon allowed her to do what she needed as he regained his composure and strength.
A long time, or at least it seemed so, went by before the female spoke (why couldn't he think of her name!?). She gazed down at him and asked the most peculiar question. Soul sick? What did she mean by that? For a moment, he wondered if she was talking about his imprint. Was Solstice sick too? But, he had only seen her a few weeks ago and she seemed healthy enough. Surely he would know if she was sick… He spent far longer on this thought then he should have and had almost missed the wolfess' next sentence. This brought his wandering thoughts to a point and he nodded in understanding. Soltice was fine, it was him who was ill. Soul sick…
"Perhaps you are right, my lady. This sickness came so suddenly and it couldn't have been at a worse time," he said, taking a few breaths. "I can smell it on the wind. Change is coming to Moladion and there is so much tension and fear." Pausing, he wondered if he was afraid himself. He longed to be well enough to reign over his birth land again, but did he feel ready? So far, there had been peace and prosperity to the wolves of Asteraia. But now their loyalties were being called out and choices had to be made. Tough choices that could decide the fate of the pack and its allies. Did he feel ready to make these decisions? "Soul sick. Maybe I am. I have never heard of such a thing. Where did you hear of it? And, I must apologize, what is your name? I feel upset that I do not remember it and I wish to know who saved me this night."
