The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.
This is no ordinary love [Orhan, any>]

Despite the sudden sense of relief that came over her the moment Koray bowed to defeat against Shamwari, Vita Nova couldn't stop the frantic tears from streaming down her face. She didn't know how she got to this point, where everything had spiraled so out of control. What wrong turn did she take to lead her here? The young mare had a seemingly endless list of horses she wished to apologize to. It started with her mother. Next, it would probably be Nephilim. Then Fallo. Even Orhan, for bringing out of the worst in his son. Part of her even wanted to say sorry to Koray, too. Perhaps if the two of them had never met, they might both be happier than they were now.

The grey mare took a deep breathe as she stood near the edge of Desert, where Koray's terrain ended and the Dunes began. Her icy blue eyes were peeled for the golden frame of her mother. Shamwari had made sure that Nova would have a proper escort back to Luthien. Her heart pounded so fiercely in her chest as she anxiously awaited the arrival of her mother. She couldn't flee Salem fast enough.

But in the back of her mind, she worried about Evren. Nova promised her that she'd tell her father where she'd gone. Orhan had returned weeks ago, and Nova never found the right time to approach him. Well, not without Koray hovering too far away. So the mare grit here teeth and issued a shrill call for the kind buckskin stallion, and mentally prepared herself to tell him the news whether Koray accompanied him to answer the call or not. The father of the child growing inside of her, however, would be a secret Nova declared to keep forever. In that regard, she was following in the treacherous footsteps of her mother. Evaline had confided in her that she had been in a similar situation when she became pregnant with Shamwari. But look at the red stallion now -- he never knew who his father was, and he turned out alright. Perhaps there was hope for the one growing inside of her, too.

When Evaline's slender body came into view in the distance, Nova breathed a heavy sigh. She craned her head to look across the Desert once more, her heart leaping in her chest with hope that Orhan would come and not leave her call unanswered. In an effort to sooth her shaky limbs and faulty composure, she tried to keep her sights on her mother and her breathing even. She was so thankful for Evaline. Whatever happened to her in the Lagoon had changed her. It made her kinder. Perhaps the mare always had it in her and Nova could only appreciate her now that she was an adult. But if it wasn't for her, and for Shamwari, she didn't know what she'd do. It was Evaline's scheming, after all, that put the bug in Shamwari's ear to come and save her.
