After everything you’ve done, I can thank you for how strong I’ve become
If Tinuvel was home, the Peak was like the house of a favorite cousin or aunt. Visited often, held in a sort of awe. The stag had often wondered about the mares who lived there, those who dedicated their lives to one another. The Sisterhood. Sterkte made sense, she was a fireball, born to the world about a decade too early. In her prime, a warrior of great strength, and in her weaker days merely a woman whose heart decided her fate. Perhaps it was one of the reasons that some choose to live in such a home - a place where it seemed there was no chance love. Not in a romantic sense anyways.
Hotheaded as he was, Orkaan knew his place. This was not his, it would never be his, and he respected the Vulcans more than your typical band stallion. Thus, as the heavily pregnant mare eyed him there was none of his typical bravado in place, no show of pride or baring of fangs. Instead, he stood attentively, auds pricked and his amber orbs revealing only curiosity. She is smaller than him, much smaller, though her coat is covered in enough dirt that there was no telling what she really looked like. Her build was not that of a draft such as himself, nor a fine arabian or akhal-teke. He wondered briefly what position she held. Code-breaker? General? Or any of the other p[ossibilites - of course all were respectable though he knew some mares simply sought refuge here.
Unable to stop himself, a slight chuckle left his maw but he bobbed his head as he answered her. ”Yes, I’ve requested permission from your minister, Jetta, is it now? I wanted to see the Peak again. My mother brought me here many times as a young boy.” There were likely secret places he should have known nothing of, but his dam had never been able to suppress her own excitement, sticking her nose where it didn’t belong and showing him her favorite places. Gaze lingering, he filled his thoughts with her name. Macabre.
”A pleasure to meet you then Macabre. It was a vain hope I suppose. More know of my grandfather Het Vuur. Alas, I have always found the minds here most intriguing.”
Owdeht had taught him to value the mind. Of course he was still a stallion, drawn in by beauty and lust, but to have someone with deeper thinking? To have another intellect to converse with? It made life worthwhile. It was in large part why he took up alliance with Mariael and Persephone. They were queens with strong thoughts and strong shoulders to bear the burdens of ruling. Although the tobiano had no intention of taking anyone here home he certainly hoped a friendship or two might blossom. Even an acquaintance would do.
