Mostly have thoughts about impetus/'splore

Haven
I like the idea of the intersex addition, but I think it should be very rare. It seems like if this were common, it would be much more built into the culture. I almost wonder if it should be rolled with physical/neuro diversity, as it tends to be a genetic divergence. Although if it stayed in the sex category, I guess that would give an opportunity to add new chromosome picker items. HMM LOTS TO THINK ABOUT.

Re: physical- and neuro-diversity more generally, I'm curious how these generators work. I have more thoughts on this but would want to know that first.

Re: baby coupon stuff, I am also interested to hear more about this :)

Impetus
Mostly my thoughts are that I liked how the old system had some limits in place
- your character couldn't be on more than one quest at a time, and quest times were set durations (perhaps could be made to be minimum durations, if we were adapting that to the current system and there were multiple rounds of prompts?)
- quests had associated costs (not for events like spirit quests)
- quests with potential for bigger returns were longer AND more expensive. I am all for greater risk = greater possible reward. I am also for negative outcomes, because as ya know, I'm a sucker for pain.
I do like the more narrative type of Impetus/questing/'splore that was implemented last version (...2 versions ago??? Can't remember) in theory. Obviously I haven't exactly taken advantage of it, though some of that was because getting Croe that 3rd star was a bit of a grind and I felt like the benefits to having done that went away. On the one hand it was a lot of doubloons, but on the other hand nothing else was really required of the player or the character. I think a balance can be struck somewhere between the two? Maybe we could incentivize group efforts, while we're at it?

My personal philosophy is that the difference between a post-based rpg and a MUD game is that the story and character development and collaboration are more important than the gathering of things. I'm sure not everyone shares that opinion, but that's usually where I'm coming from when I have thoughts about these things :)

In closing, I really love that you guys are always looking at Shaman as a work in progress, and considering ways systems could be improved. That makes this site so dynamic and amazing, and makes you really great admins!
