Spring had at last come to Asteraia. With it came an explosion of color as the thousands of wildflowers that littered the plains bloomed to life. Standing atop a large gnoll, Halcyon could see the black form of his niece, Tikal, playing in a large patch of bright yellow flowers. A soft smile spread across the alpha's lips as he watched her, hoping his own daughters would be like her. He hoped they would get along. A pleasant burning sensation filled his stomach at the thought of his children. He was going to be a father! Though they had mated late in the season, Aster's belly was getting larger by the day and soon they would have late spring pups to care for. Halcyon could hardly wait to meet them. But that was still a long ways away. For now, there was someone else he needed to meet.
Turning away from the dancing pup, the russet wolf moved towards the den he knew was inhabited by Aster's grandfather. It was exciting to know that even more of Aster's family had come to live in the plains. Having Viserys and Mugen had helped Halcyon overcome much of his anxiety about being back in his homeland. With Lazarus and now Tesseract here, he hoped that would help his mate as well. With a litter of great grandchildren on the way, Tesseract was in for an exciting spring.
Once at the den, Halcyon stood at the entrance and offered a soft whine as a greeting to the older male.
