Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He had no idea that he was being followed. He certainly would have turned around sooner to make a new friend if he had. But the world was so new and inspiring and he was overwhelmed by it all. But something about the ocean had been calling to him for a long time. Of course he didn't know about it when he was born but he had been listening to the soothing sounds of the waves for as long as he could remember. It lulled him to sleep every night and woke him gently every morning as he cuddled against his mother's side. When he played within the confines of his den, he would hear the waves lapping against the rocks outside and wonder if it hurt them. He had always wanted to see the ocean but his parents said he needed to get bigger first. They were afraid he would be swept away by the current. Of course he wasn't scared of such things. Why should he be? Everything he'd seen so far was good and wonderful.

The sand was a new experience but he liked it. With it being wet, it was so much more wonderful. It stuck to his toes and got stuck in between them. It stuck to his fur but he didn't mind. He felt like he was becoming part of the beach. He lifted a paw and giggled at the sand dripping down, wiggling his toes. His tail couldn't stop wagging. Then he heard more squishing but this time it wasn't coming from him. Gasping in surprise, he spun around to find another bigger wolf coming toward him. It wasn't his parents so that was a good start but he had yet to run into any other wolves so he was also a little cautious. His ears pricked toward the wolf and he was about to greet him when the wolf stopped and looked at the water. Curious, Triton followed his gaze, looking from the waves and back to the wolf as if that would answer his silent questions. His brow rose expectantly but the wolf had yet to speak so Triton almost felt like it would be rude if HE chose to speak.

Then the wolf lifted his paw and pointed at the water before slamming it down. Triton jumped a little at the sudden motion with a squeak of surprise. But then he focused on the wolf's paw motions, trying to understand. When the other wolf snorted and gave him a sheepish grin, Triton couldn't help but mimick the gesture, grinning right back at him as his tail started wagging again. Seeing the paw raised again, Triton chose to mimick him again, raising his own paw now and continuing to grin at the other wolf as if to say "I'm ready when you are."
