aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Vladimir’s tongue ran over the top of her head as he pulled her closer to him. Sera took the opportunity to snuggle deeper into his fur and the two lay like this for some time. Though Vladimir’s breathing had slowed to denote that he was sleeping, Seraphina simply could not. Too many thoughts swirled around her head. Should the pair have thought this through more? What exactly were the chances that they would conceive? Were they too young? Would she - they - be able to handle pups? Would Vlad even want pups? Now that she’d started thinking about it, the princess couldn’t stop. Her brow furrowed in thought, looking for the best way to broach the subject to her mate. She could feel him begin to wake beside her and was suddenly unable to control her mouth, blurting out her question right away instead of bringing the topic up slowly.

Silence hung between the two and Sera cursed her nerves and lack of control. Well that was certainly one way to put off a brute wasn’t it? Vlad may have been her soul mate, but her asking him the question so abruptly… well anyone was bound to be a bit off put by how eager it had seemed. Or what she seemed to be hinting at. Vlad’s head shot up and Sera chewed her lip worriedly. “I… Am… Um…” The princess quickly corrected herself, assuring Vlad that she was merely curious. After all, there was such a little chance that she would actually be pregnant… right?

“Honestly? I feel that we are practically still pups ourselves. There is so much in the world we do not know, so much we have yet to experience… I want to make a family with you… Someday.” Seraphina felt her heart warm at the thought. She’d never been opposed to having pups, but knowing that theirs would be born from true love made her truly want them. “Not necessarily today. But whenever we are blessed with babies, of course I will except them and love them - half of them will be you, and anything that was even 100th of you I would love.” A steady blush crept up Sera’s cheeks. She was still so unused to hearing Vlad say such things to her. But it felt nice; it felt right. “I just don’t think that we are in the best place or position to be having them right now.” Seraphina nodded. She agreed. They were too young, too inexperienced, for that kind of step. “My concern is… What if they are too big for you right now. You are my soulmate… And if you were to die giving birth to our pups… you would rip my soul in half and destroy it utterly. And I worry that I would resent the pups forever coming to be if their life meant your death.” Vlad was right, of course. Though the two were not so young in mind, circumstances forcing some sort of maturity on them, they certainly were in body. Adulthood had not yet taken their last signs of youth away and for Sera this was the most important thing. She was small, always had been, always would be, but her adult body would be larger and stronger than her present one. Vlad had brought up a valid point and Seraphina recalled being told that her mother had struggled with the fact that she had been small as well. It explained why she had only had two surviving pups, born nearly a generation apart. She’d never considered that she could die, however. It frightened Sera to think that.

“But… when we are older, and fully grown… There is nothing I would love more than to have babies,” Vlad kissed her cheek, “upon babies” another kiss, this one had her stifling a giggle, “upon babies with you.” Vlad placed one final kiss on Sera and she burst out into laughter, her body shaking with it as he gave her neck a gentle squeeze and stood. The prince walked towards the entrance of the caves… no; their den. Their den. The very thought made her head buzz with excitement. Seraphina stood as well and stretched, shaking out her coat and lims, and watched Vlad, now bowing playfully before her, with a grin. He seemed just as happy at the thought of this being their home as she did. He suggested decorating it, or having a garden, or finding some the glow worms they’d come across all that time ago. Sera wagged with an equal intensity back at him.

“Of course we must decorate it! And the glow worms are a must. You might be able to see in the dark, but I can’t.” She laughed and moved past Vlad into the bright sunlight, blinking a few times to allow her emeralds to adjust. Her gaze swept over the land near the entrance. Sera had never had much knowledge of herbs, but perhaps she could grow some flowers. Forget-me-nots were her favorites, their bright petals had always reminded her of Vlad’s eyes, especially now, and there was nothing more fitting to grow. Seraphina looked out over the crystalline lake, took in the bright blue that now greeted her with appreciative eyes. “So do you want to find some worms first or look for flowers?”

OOC: I left it sorta open ended so you can do a timeskip if you want, or wait :)
