Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

He was a master at secrets and he could tell when someone wasn't being completely honest with him. Of course that was to be expected from an assassin, right? There was something Orifel wasn't telling him but he knew better than to come out and ask. That was no way to get a straight answer so he would have to figure out a way to finesse it out of him. Now he just had to figure out the right way to go about it. He tilted his head as Orifel kept talking about what Kattari did to get away. He shrugged. "It guess it doesn't. I wouldn't know. I blame ignorance as well. But I'd rather smell like a flower than a tree any day. At least I have my honor. Or at least I can say I'm honest about it rather than hiding behind words like justice and honor." He watched Orifel for his reaction. He wasn't about to beg him for what he knew of Kattari and what she did. Either he would tell him or he wouldn't. Cuirass had his pride, either way. It was obvious Orifel felt his family was better but that was expected from an Angel. Cuirass had heard the stories of his proud line, just as he claimed they were.

He tilted his head, chuckling when Orifel said it was the beliefs that determine what you are. "Beliefs....just words. I believe in actions. But that's okay. I know Angels are rather good at all that talk." He grinned, his eyes twinkling. Orifel seemed thoughtful for a moment before accusing him of being a demon and that made Cuirass laugh out loud. "So now we're back to using the age old labels that started a war. I am proud to say I have no blood relation to any of that lot your family fought back in the day. And innocent? Why don't you ask the assassin that was hired to kill a new mother in Iromar by someone in your pack just how innocent she was?" His eyes shimmered with intensity. He knew what Arace meant when she nudged her head toward Diveen that fateful day. She was trying to tell Pine who hired her, why she killed Eleanor. Now he could tell Orifel was dismissing him and his tail twitched. He laughed again at his last words. "Well at least I'll give you a fighting chance if I ever need to feed myself off a roguish assassin type. But yeah, I'll be seeing you, Orifel. I'll make sure of it." He smirked, watching as Orifel left. If things were different, maybe they could have been allies, friends even.
