At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

The growing unsteadiness growing within the steely grey brute’s chest, was starting to take away what little thought processes he had left. The chill of the black tendrils that seeped from his heart were tearing away what little hope he had begun to feel, and the soft exterior he had maintained was falling fast. The fortress around his heart was beginning to take a physical persona and show on the exterior. And although Tiresias was unable to see this, it did little to rest Castiel’ heart because he knew that it would not be hard to notice the stiffening of his muscles and the tautness of his entire figure. The words that had flowed from his mouth so easily about himself, the change, the magic were all but gone. A dam had built up in the back of his throat and he was rendered incapable of speaking any longer of himself. Instead those emotions he had tried to hide were now eliciting physical responses. The poor boy found himself unable to stop the tears that brimmed his glacial pools. He wished them to freeze, and hold until he could rid himself of them. Instead it readily fell onto Tiresias’ pelt. The salty drop left a dark streak as it trailed down his companion, and he tried to quickly erase the evidence, but one could not mistake that feeling. Tears left trails of anguish, and though some were more bitter than others, it did not change the way the tears of pain fell from each wolf’s eyes.

Castiel only stopped because of the soft probing of a cold nose amongst his fur; it gently trailed up from his shoulder to his cheek. A warm tingling sensation radiated from each touch, and a deep rumbling purr threaten to surface from his chest, but Castiel held the urge down. Glacial, baby blue eyes watched with a certain softness, only akin to that of a lover’s look, but Castiel did not realize that he was staring this way. He watched as Tiresias’ tongue swept out and over his cheek. A small smile formed on his lips. His body and mind relished in the residual feelings, but he quickly snapped himself back to. Blinking rapidly to clear away the awe-struck façade from his face, his mind raced with thoughts that brought a certain heat to his cheeks.

Castiel knew now that the love he craved could not be given by a female. And though he still sometimes tried to refuse the word that he knew described him, he knew that he could not run from it. Merlo had been the only one to tame his wandering, lost soul. All hope had been erased from his world, after losing his mother and father and then watching his brother realize that he loved Seraphina, his best friend. Castiel all the while, happy for them, struggled to understand why he could make himself feel something akin to the emotion that his brother emoted, but it was not possible. Castiel, was no doubt masculine, but he did not care for the shape of the feminine wolf. Even before he knew the pleasures of the body, Castiel somewhat instinctively realized that whatever any woman had to offer would satisfy him. But after Merlo, Castiel knew that what he craved was another male. And though in this moment he could not really make himself love again, he knew that should he ever find the ability to love again it would be for another male. Ironically though, and much to his demise the gentle touch and the probing touches of Tiresias were eliciting emotions that Castiel had thought were long gone. And just like before he blew it off, just like he denied to voices in his head. Castiel in this point in his life felt himself unworthy of love. Merlo had had his heart and soul and in the blink of an eye it was gone. He had watched as the blood seeped from his lover’s body, it now stained his pelt with onyx hues and steel bands. The boy had been rendered incapable of saving the one wolf that had meant the world to him then, and still did now. He could not forgive himself for failing Merlo. They would’ve been happy together, maybe they would have stayed loners together, lived out their days wandering together, maybe he could have had a family, but now? Now, that was as far from his mind as it could possibly be.

Just like the thought of returning home.

Castiel felt a ripple of separation as Tiresias pulled back, his red and black crown shaking. A smile swept up the other brute’s kissers and Castiel couldn’t help but feel a tug at his own to mimic it. Their bodies were still close so soft breaths of air tussled Tiresias’ fur, as he listened intently. I have definitely found comfort in our conversation thus far, and I do hope I have offered you the same sort of help. You are the first wolf I have come across since returning to Blossom Forest, and I am happy it was you. Though I didn’t know you well I think it could not have happened more perfectly that we were met again on this same beach, helping each other. I’m not sure if its coincidence or fate, but whatever it is I’m glad for it. Castiel smile lackadaisically, a gentle laugh coming from his lips. His fur mixed with Tiresias’ as he sat watching the ocean. His glacial orbs turned back to his companion, Don’t worry about your blindness, it hasn’t stopped you yet has it? You’re still here, alive on this beach. That’s all that matters, if you were truly incapable or crippled you would not have lived this long on your own Tiresias. Clearly you are much stronger than the average wolf. And anways I don’t actually have a home anymore, so I don’t really have any suggestions. This is the first place I arrived at when I came back after my long travels. I also don’t much have the urge or want to return back to my birth pack. I don’t think my presence would be the most welcome considering I ran away from it. I left my only brother alone with our half brother, who we barely knew, as the Alpha of the pack. I don’t think it is quite the same anyways considering the whole of the land has undergone some massive changes. I’m quite content to stay here on the shore and talk with you Tiresias. Castiel leaned into Tiresias and nudged him playfully, a gentle rumbling laugh vibrating through his chest. Besides, what’s the fun in losing our freedom? We’ve got all we need right here at our paws. A secondary thought popped into his mind but he kept the thought to himself, realizing it wasn’t exactly something he ought to say… they have each other, but this could be taken in a way that neither of the brutes was willing to explore for their own reasons.
