PERSEPHONE

Persephone returned the stranger’s smile, relieved slightly when she responded kindly. It had been some time now since she had ventured to the common lands and made conversation with someone she had never met before, and so she was glad that her first attempt today had not been met by some aggressive or unfriendly being.

“It’s been too long since I got out of my home,” she replied, voicing her thoughts as she moved to stand a little closer now that the mare had accepted her company. “It’s not good for me to stay cooped up in one place and lose track of what’s going on around the rest of the Islands.”

The mare introduced herself then as Freya – Persephone committed it to memory for future reference, as she always did, along with the woman’s appearance and scent. She accepted the introduction with a polite nod of her head, holding the mare’s gaze.

“It’s nice to meet you, Freya,” she replied with a small smile. “I am Persephone, leader of the Forest on Luthien. What about you, what brought you out here today?”
