One foot in front of the other, one foot in front of the other... The femme was a little more than halfway down the rough terrain by now, feeling like she was trying to climb down the steep side of a mountain, and far too late to turn back. Never had she been more pleased with her slender frame; she had a sinking feeling that she would have slipped on a loose rock a long time ago if she was much heavier.
She went slowly, trying not to rush despite the curiosity that had welled up in her when she had first caught sight of the cave entrance from her vantage point on top of the crags. She was afraid she wouldn't be able to find it again if she tried to find another route down, a safer route down, and so the pros outweighed the cons. The shortest route from point A to point B was always a straight line, after all, and she didn't want to lose the daylight by searching for a safe place to sleep for the night.
After what felt like ages she managed to make it safely to the ground, a proud smile lighting up her features when all four paws touched dirt as once more. She trotted bravely forward, her head filling with the scents of damp earth and stone the further she went.
This would do perfectly.
