Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Once she had learned of others, Dagon was almost obsessively interested in meeting as many as she could. How curious they all were, so different from her own family, but she supposed that to them, she was an 'other' too. She barely registered crossing the border of Spirane, her nose to the ground-- she was simply agitated that Kalseru's markers disrupted the scent trail of the one that she was following. It was not boldness, not rebelliousness, but simple curiosity. What more was out there? And where could this stranger possibly be going?

With her round ears and wide eyes, as well as the eyebrow markings above her split-colored orbs, the girl had an almost permanent expression of innocent inquisitiveness. Her family all were very different, but she found herself sticking with Ashur and her mother the most. Sans was lazy, and Vayrus was... well... she loved him, but... sometimes he was just too much. But she did not want to limit herself to just her family when there were so many more to meet. A whole world of different experiences and different lives. It was not difficult for her to follow the tracks in the snow, towards a river that she had only ever seen from up high on the mountains.

Dagon pressed her belly to the snow when she saw a flash of sandy brown through the browned foliage surrounding the river. She was not afraid of discovery, but the girl seemed to be focused on a strange red creature. Surely she was not trying to hunt it-- a creature of that color couldn't possibly be good to eat. She had been told to avoid insects that were brightly colored as they would taste bad and make her tummy hurt, so surely it applied to this strange beast as well. Dagon tilted her head, letting her breath release in a sigh of relief when the animal darted away.

She rose to her paws and shook off the dusting of snow on her belly, before pushing through the brittle bushes and glancing at the sandy blonde pup. "Hello." Her voice was squeaky with youth, but it did not sound immature. Dagon took a few uncertain steps towards her quarry. "I followed you here. I wanted to know where you were going. I'm from Spirane, too." Perhaps the other girl may find her rather direct way of speaking odd, but she saw no reason to hide her feelings or her intentions. It wasn't worth compromising her own beliefs and feelings as to not make someone else feel uncomfortable. She supposed that wouldn't make her many friends. Dagon furrowed her brow slightly, before following with something that sounded a bit more friendly. "My name's Dagon. What's yours?"
