Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

It was about damn time spring rolled around. Dash was starting to wonder if all winters were going to be hungry and miserable; certainly his first two had been. With the severe weather gripping the southwest of Moladion, he'd been relegated to the eastern reaches. He didn't mind the terrain, really, but it was a lot harder to be stealthy in an open field than a swamp or the labyrinthine crags.

But now spring had arrived and he would be able to move more freely across Moladion, following prey and stalking hunting parties. His life might be shit, but it was the only one he knew, so for Dash, it was good. There was always a thrill that came with snatching a piece of a kill from another wolf. Sure, he'd been caught more than once over the past year and had the scars to show for it, but that had only helped him get better.

Life was about timing and advantage. If you didn't take what you needed, you didn't survive. Sure there were a few suckers out there that gave selflessly to others and he was more than willing to take advantage of their kindness, but Dash had learned that in this world, if you didn't look out for yourself, no one else would.

With the intent of finding himself a nice meal, either through his own efforts or another, the young white and ginger wolf picked his way through the field, sticking to the taller grasses to avoid being spotted as much as possible. Yes, life was good just the way it was.
