Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

My search wasn’t turning up jack squat. Everytime I thought I might have caught a hint of Maude somewhere, the trail went cold. The fact that I’d possibly found her scent in these lands was promising, but as expansive as the woodlands were, I was going to have to venture further it would seem, if I was going to find my sister and haul her angsty butt back to mother and father.

I’d also come no closer to deciding what I was going to do with my life when I returned, not that that was entirely surprising.

These days, nothing really appealed to me. Even the pointless wooing of the women had become a bit boring. At least back home, anyway. They all knew I wasn’t about to settle down just yet so either I was ignored or a few girls here and there would engage and test their feminine wiles on me. The odd bizarrely hopeful young woman would genuinely attempt to change my mind about mating and settling down for pups; it never ended well.

Here, though, no one knew me. No one expected anything of me. It was both disconcerting and liberating to be completely free of my own reputation. I still hadn’t decided what I would do with that freedom. There were two options really. I could take advantage of the anonymity and test my charms on the ladies of this land or I could try and be something different. If it didn’t work out, no big deal, I’d just go back home to where I was the womanizing good for nothing son.

While I was pondering my options and wandering through the woodlands, a sound reached my ears, stopping me short. It took a moment to pinpoint the source but once I had, I started in that direction, grateful for the distraction from contemplating my future. Peering around the rough trunk of a pine tree, the sight that met my eyes was rather comical. There was a wolf, a female at that, wriggling around on her back beneath another tree. Honestly it looked like a good time; I’d not rolled in the dirt in a good long while, but I supposed it wouldn’t be particularly charming if I just flopped down beside her and began to flail about.
Deciding that alerting her to my presence was probably the best course of action, I disappeared behind the tree once more and found a bit of foliage to rustle about in rather deliberately before stepping out from behind the tree, making sure that I cut a rather dashing figure as I did so. It was second nature to me by now, to pose and posture. If anyone asked me to change that I doubt I could. That would be like asking Maude to not be homely and awkward. ”Well hello there, miss. Do you need assistance with that itch?”
