Venturing outside of Spirane. It was a strange thing to think about, but I was doing it. Momma said more than once that I was too young, but screw that. I was already tall for a one year old, I could easily pretend I was two, and no one would know. I moved swiftly, my legs eating the distance as I loped out of spirane. I headed towards those rocks I always saw from the borders, and that's where my mind always went.
I found it took a little while to make my way there, but once I was upon the rocky edges, it felt like I had accomplished what I had set out to do, make it to where my mind wandered most days. I had always seen them in the distance from the spirane border, and my heart was set on them. Being here right now felt right. My dainty steps carried me easily across the rocks, my nose twitched almost non-stop as it took in all of the scents that were surrounding my face. It felt like such a jolt to know that I was out and about without any family member. My uncles had gotten distant lately and I wasn't sure why, but that was alright, I supposed, they had their own lives, so I couldn't fault them for it.
I looked up at the bright blue sky, the clouds were gone, and it was so vivid out here, I felt like making a ruckus, but at the same time, I wanted to bask in the quiet nature that surrounded me. I found a large, flat rock that was balanced on the top of other jagged rocks, and carefully picking my way through the rocks, I allowed myself to stretch out lazily across the top of the rock, peering out at the vast area around me, wondering just what this adventure would have in store for me today. Something grand, I'm sure.
