Matianak did her best to keep her focus on Triton. As sweet and good as the boy seemed, there was enough youth and naivety there that even as the boy got older, this could play quite well to her advantage. As long as she played the string a certain way. It also meant he couldn't see her true colors, which much to her despair, meant tolerating the presence of his extremely, ever pleasant, aunt.
When Triton agreed with her words regarding the friendship and Samia, she did genuinely smile just a bit. It was already beginning. She did not feel any displeasure to the other female using the shortened variant of her name. Let there be that familiarity. As much as she disliked it, the thought did occur that making friends with the pack healer might prove beneficial down the road. She hoped she might not ever have need of Samia's particular skill set. Her tail waved a bit, ears listening with interest to the boy. A seagull indeed. Poor boy needed to get out more if he was talking to things that couldn't talk back.
"It sounds like you have quite the companion in Charlie," she said as he described the seagull. The conversation slowly shifted as they walked. Matianak could see the dynamic between the pair. A familial bond that she did not have with any of her blood. Nor was she likely to. "I'm sure you're father will be quite good at whatever it is he aspires to. If his son is any indication, I know it," she said, giving Triton a wink before responding with her own desires, "I have considered it. I can have quite a way with words when it suits sticky situations. So, perhaps I can be useful to Eden in this way."
