He merely nodded at her rejection, neither rejected himself or disatisfied with her response: he might have expected it, after all but it had only felt right to make the offer. Sometimes seeing the truth helped put things at ease. But then again, sometimes not. Even though he had seen Aster cling to Halcyon, he had foolishly still thought himself close to her. He supposed even that logic was grey. Everything seemed to be that way.
"I think you are right. Though, I wonder if he ever thought of what removing that man might have done too. Now, answers are harder to find for all of us. I know your mind wanders far and wide," and in truth, he wondered if Eden had ever thought of Ehiyeh's children and not only his own. Even Elohim, who had been distant for the most part, could see the uncomfortable nature that was wondering inside Pagan and Adonai. Just as he and his siblings would ask questions about their own mother that would never be answered, Eden had done completely removed Pagan and Adonai's answers too. Grey. Everything was a shade of grey. It made Elohim frown and it made his body twitch with uncertainty.
He wondered if his sister had meant to sound so wise; desite the far away look in her eyes and face, he returned his gaze to her own with a sudden clarity, as if seeing her in focus for the first time. "I often wonder if you were ever taught such things or if your wisdom comes from a much deeper place," though it was half muse, he still offered her the smallest of grins. "You are far wiser and stronger than anybody gives you credit for. Let me be the first -" he bowed his head, half playful but serious too, in some display of respect before he grinned up at her, "one day, dear sister, I will repay your wisdom by finding a way to create a better world for you." Because she deserved it after everything and he had no doubt about that at all.
