Her muscle was healing and despite favoring it a fair bit she stayed active despite the fact she hadn’t quite felt ready to hunt again. Even more, she had things to do, and wolves to look after. They were small in number but most were rather strong and well built. Perhaps there remained hope others would find their way to call this place home but in the end, did it really matter? Who truly needed a pack bursting at the seems, maybe they would start to starve; it would mean easier pickings in the free lands. This was her logic and perhaps even then the deep affirmed such ideas.
When she would manage the border she often found Kajika’s scent lingering close to the border. She had wondered if he would come speak to her but it was not a matter she cared to press. Had she not have been taking the time to tend to, and re-explore the rolling plains she wouldn’t have heard the Apep’s gruff bark. While she didn’t care to wait, she wasn’t going to rush to him just as he hadn’t seemed all that interested in greeting her; after all, he was something akin to a friend. She hadn’t trusted him entirely but she did understand they had a mutual agreement of sorts in play so she could respect that. Thus she could take her time, knowing despite all things; the Apep was not a foolish wolf.
Lifting her head slightly as the breeze picked up her ears drew back slightly. It was not only the scent of the Apep but another and Kajika. Her opalescent eyes found their focus on the small group and her eyes watched them critically. Despite any hesitance, she would have shown for the limb she tossed it aside and jogged forward to close the distance, her teeth gnashed hidden behind black lips. She was certain Kajika had uttered something, but what was said, she was unsure. Now unlike a simple companion, he was her pack and she refused to let Thorne play his games with Kajika here.
Sekhmet’s paws slowed her breathing evened out; despite it only being a jog she still felt the warm flashes of pain. Her left shoulder bumped against Kajika’s flank; the boy was easy enough for her to tower over him. Settling against his right side her tongue lashed forward from the scruff of his neck between his ears. Though she may be unaware of what words may have been exchanged prior to her arrival her mark and claim was clear. After all, perhaps she did have a soft spot for smaller wolves. Myrria was a prime example of that. She would do the same for her family or larger companions if she absolutely felt the need but doubted their pride would desire it, save for Ripper perhaps.
Pressing forward, Sekhmet stood ever so slightly in front of Kajika as she observed the pair before her.
