Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

My Philosophy is That Worrying Means You Suffer Twice

_________________________________________________________________________

The late afternoon autumn air brushed through the purple and green fur that covered most of the male’s form. His yellow scarf contrasted the darker fur and shone in the setting sun, as if his colors were not already unique enough. But the male had little worries right not, especially not about how much his form stood out from the rest of the world. Most wolves had pelts designed to help camouflage them based on where their ancestors were from, but he was not sure if that was the case for him. If he were back home his pelt would still have stuck out, though not as much with more Arcus Irae around to help him blend in. But the foliage would still stick out from his dark amethyst and bright yellow coloring, though the emerald green of his stilts might blend in. But blending in had never been on the teen’s mind. He had always been different, even from within his own kind. He often preferred solitude when other’s would seek out the comfort of a pack. But Scamander would grow uncomfortable in groups if he was with them for too long, and needed time for himself to feel normal again.

And that was exactly what brought Scamander out into the trees today. There had been so much death and sorrow, and he had spent a lot of time with others. The Arcus Irae stuck together and went to a pack together, looking to each other for support and comfort. And then they had been joined by one more of their kind, Nyla. Their numbers were flocking to the pack with Tempests, and they thought that they had to be safer there. At least the group had put distance between themselves and the vampire pack. But after they had all spent time together, helping one another recover from the sorrows they had gone through, the male needed his space. He didn’t plan on being gone for too long, Vladimir would worry otherwise and he didn’t need the Tempest to come out looking for him, so he hadn’t really made notice of the time of day. But it was later than he had realized, and after only a short period in the forest, the sun was almost fully set, and the moon was making its way out for the night. It had been some time since he had been out in the night on his own, and his thoughts wandered back to that night, the night that he somehow escaped unscathed from a vampire. Ever since he was a pup he was taught about the creatures of the night. How their bloodlust drove them and they sought out Arcus Irae to keep and feed from. That vampires were always evil and would kill another wolf faster than you could defend yourself. The fear he had felt when his friends had died was nothing in comparison to what he felt when his mismatched orbs met the unnatural red gaze of the vampire. A shiver went through the male’s form as the memory came back to him, and he shook his pelt out, trying to shake the memory away.

For a few moments it seemed to work, and Scamander forgot about Diosa. But with the darkness settling in around him, he felt his heartbeat began to race. What if he ran into a vampire again? Even though he was bigger this time didn’t mean that he stood a fighting chance against them. His kind were not meant to be warriors, fighting was not in his blood. But vampires were bred to be warriors, and killers. Scamnder didn’t realize how real his fears were, as he was already being watched by the same female that he had met not so long ago. But surely he would know if he was not alone? He heard no sounds of another approaching, and there was no scent near him besides his own. He truly felt alone in the dense foliage here. But he could not have been more wrong. There was suddenly a voice right in his ear, one that he had heard once before. Even before he turned his head, he knew that it was Diosa. Scamander could never forget her voice, and the interaction, though brief, that he had had with her. That same feeling of terror washed through his veins, his heart stopping for a moment as he held his breath. Somehow he had survived one encounter with a vampire before, would his luck hold out again? He highly doubted it, and felt that his time here was now very limited.

The rainbow’s paws stumbled for a moment as the vampire seemed to appear out of thin air, her form had made no sound and of course she had no scent to her. “Scamander…? ,I thought you would have learned not to take walks at night.” Dark purple and bright yellow orbs met glowing crimson ones as he turned his features to look at her. Why did he have to run into her again? Wasn’t their first meeting enough? But she was right, he was out at night so it was his own fault. He should have been more careful and been back home by now. But he had been careless and stupid, putting his life at risk once more. Could he really except to survive a second encounter with a vampire? Her quiet laughter sent a shiver down his spine, and he stopped in his tracks, turning his form to face her. If he was going to die he might as well face it. ”What is it you want with me?” He knew that being rude could get him hurt here, but he needed to know what was going on. Why of all the vampires in the lands, had he come across the same being twice? It couldn’t be a coincidence. And besides, Scamander was one to speak him mind even if it was not always wise to speak up. Inside, he was quaking with fear, but outside he tried not to show it. Tried not to let his muscles tremble in fear as he looked at the vampire.
