Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

finding the prey

He knew he had to work hard to gain a position in Glorall. He'd been trying ever since he could remember. When he was a pup, he was training to be a warrior but then everything happened and he got separated from the pack and Moladian. By the time he found his way back, Eden was in charge and looking for him to be more in a diplomatic position. He didn't mind, so he tried to offer his advice lightly and even engaged his alpha in a game of sparring and tag. It was fun, but it had a goal in mind. Then Eden said he would be back later to continue their chat. Thor waited and waited and he felt useless in the meantime.

There weren't many ranked wolves in Glorall but he knew that some had held their ranks longer than others. They had proved themselves, sometimes at a young age, enough to Eden to gain a rank. He wanted the same opportunity. He wanted to prove he was worthy. He was loyal to Eden and Glorall. He was loyal to his family and friends. He wondered vaguely if Inanna would want more children later on. Was she happy enough with just Triton or would she want their family to keep growing? He loved being a father and couldn't get enough of watching Triton learn and grow. He was so smart and exuberant. There was no end to what the child was capable of and he was only a yearling. Who knew what next year would bring for him? Thor looked forward to seeing it.

To this day, he couldn't believe his luck that Inanna had chosen him over her imprint. He knew that was a strong connection. He'd felt it himself when he met Talien. But Talien had been lying low on his radar for a while. He could tell that she was content in Taviora with her children but not much more emotion-wise past that. Maybe she was blocking herself off from him? Could they do that through their bond? He didn't fully understand it but then he'd been so attached to Inanna by the point that he found Talien that he didn't want to explore the connection further. He'd known many a wolf to give up on whatever wolf they were chasing in favor of their imprint again and again and he remembered the fear he felt in thinking Inanna would choose her soul mate over the pup she grew up with. But in the end, she'd taken him by surprise and said yes when he asked to make them official. He still couldn't believe he'd gotten so lucky.

He turned his head as another wolf approached. He could vaguely remember her from pack hunts. He believed she was the head hunter in the pack and she'd been so for a while cause he hadn't been on a hunt with Glorall in a long time. He smiled in greeting, his tail wagging as she came closer. At her question, he nodded and fell into step with her. "Sure, I don't mind lending a helping paw. I'm Thor, by the way. You believe the prey are moving to other lands?" He scowled thoughtfully. He didn't doubt that their prey was getting short as the seasons changed. He'd mostly been hunting small game to keep him and his family fed but he was finding it a little more challenging each time to find fresh tracks so maybe she was onto something.
