Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

heros may die...but legends endure

Zelda could tell he was not quite the rational wolf she knew as her Uncle. Darkness could invade others in all forms, and while his was of more pure intentions it clouded his mind and was turning into a storm. She wanted to help clear that from him. Bring some of his worries away and let him know what was going on. She still worried about Aspis, she knew he had said he didn’t want them to come for him, and she would do her best to make that possible. She however would be going back for him, if at the very least just to check on his well being. Already she was worried that being around the wolf was slowly tainting his otherwise good heart. What he had said about his parents… it worried her. Then again it was easier to poison someone who believed what they said for themselves… Still the visible relief of the father as he fell to his haunches bit a smile to touch her features and for a moment push aside her worries for Aspis and redirect them to the wolf before her.

She watched him though as relief turned to worry once more as she explained he wasn’t back yet. Still she still knew there was much to discuss and go through before she could get him to stand down. She would try to keep his attention on Archana for now, nodding as he said he wanted nothing more than to see Archana, but he quickly turned his mind back to Aspis. ”I don’t plan to either, and you didn’t abandon him. You protected him. It might not have been in the way you wished but you did what you could to save his life.” Zelda explained to the slightly shorter russet and brown wolf before her gently. She just wanted to impart that going in like this wasn’t going to help anyone though. Not him, not Aspis and certainly not her situation in trying to get him back someday too.

He stood back on his four, there was a smile on his eyes, confident, bold, but she knew he was not as he appeared. He knew just as well as she that it would not go well if he stormed the pack like that. He approached gently nuzzling and placing a soft kiss upon her head and she felt relaxed, ”Think nothing of it Uncle Halcyon, you are all my family and wolves of Moladion. I will protect any that I am able so long as I live and am able.” She said bowing her head. After all she was there to serve the wolves of the great land of Moladion as best she could, to protect them. Then he brought up the meat of the matter, something she wanted to discuss with him regardless and was pleased he had brought up, though he seemed almost suspicious of her.

”I’m happy you bring that up. While he asked me to not assist the one you left in charge of Asteraia. Seems he and him have business that I don’t yet know or understand, but they do not like each other.” She says, ”I think me not helping in their personal quarrel is of little interest to me in the grand scheme of things, but…” Her eyes went to Halcyon then. ”That information might be good for you.” Zelda put out there. After all the enemy of your enemy was your friend correct? At the very least it was one more paw in the door for Zelda to work though. Halcyon was a free agent, Zelda wasn’t breaking her deal with Blackthorne by doing this, least… in her mind.

”Aspis also left me a message for you. He said he was fine, and stay away from there and he could take care of himself. While I want to believe him, he is a strong child, I think he is doing it for more your and your family’s safety than his own.” She imparted to him. She hoped that that would dissuade him from doing anything too rash even if it was for his son’s sake, she hoped that he would seek out Arturio, the white king, and help him. She wanted to calm this storm in her uncle, and Arturio might be a constructive way of doing so.
