It never occurred to him that the wolf would be aware he was there the whole time. He was sure he was doing good in stalking the other male. He'd never heard a wolf hum like that though. What could there possibly be to hum about? Did he just eat or something? Eztli didn't get it and it annoyed him instantly. Finally he couldn't take it anymore so he took off through the long grass. He wasn't worried about stalking and not being heard anymore. Now, he was out for blood. Or at least to scold the wolf up pretty good for being so...happy. He made his way into the smaller wolf's path and took on a hostile stance, glaring at the male who reacted accordingly. Eztli's tail flicked behind him in satisfaction when the male bared his own fangs and pinned his ears. He was sure he was going to get a good spar out of this or something so he wouldn't feel like this was a total waste of his time.
But alas after a few moments of looking him up and down, the other male relaxed his stance and straightened up. Eztli scowled, clearly disgruntled. Why was he not defensive anymore? Did he not think Eztli was a threat to be trifled with? He gnashed his jaws in irritation, his gaze menacing. The male pricked his ears as if he was looking forward to whatever Eztli did next and that only irritated him more. Then the male had the nerve to look puzzled, raising a brow before asking what Eztli wanted him to stop. He snorted in response, rolling his eyes. "The humming, duh." He mouthed back to him in a huff. "And I'm not young anymore. I'm two years old." He glared more at the male, daring him to argue.
The wolf asked if he was going to stop him, hinting that he was asking if Eztli was going to do more than scold. A part of him wanted to do just that, but no. He had taken on his training as an assassin only to take out those who deserved it, who threatened the peace of Taviora. He didn't know who this wolf was but he didn't seem like too much of a threat. "Don't tempt me." He mouthed back, not wanting to give up the bluff that he didn't actually plan on doing anything. Instead he kept up the demeanor and eyed the male cautiously. "Where are you going? That's not the way to the mountains."
