Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

With her visit in Taviora concluded there was only one place that Seraphina wanted to go. Haziel. She’d not seen him in some time and their reunion was long overdue. Of course she didn’t look forward to telling him that the search for their brother would finally be put to rest after so many years, but she supposed that he’d probably been able to see the outcome better even without his sight. But hey, she didn’t like to listen to reason. Giggling at her own horrid jokes, the golden winged angel picked her way through the woodlands, moving away from Taviora. A yawn parts her maw as she moves through the foliage, oblivious to the sounds of the nocturnal stirring or the diurnal critters settling in for the night. Just smells and the occasional scurrying shadow of the corner of her eye. Never having heard the hoot of an owl or the chirp of a cricket, she truly didn’t care. She liked smells better; sights were good too. Sometimes she wished that Haziel could see the world as she did; the only senses they shared were touch, smell and taste. ”Three out of five ain’t bad.”

When Serap spoke her voice was little more than a whisper. When alone, she had a hard time regulating her volume and usually judged her volume of speech as best she could by another wolf’s body language. Haziel was fairly good at keeping her at a middling range with little tells, but they’d grown up together. He knew what she lacked and compensated for it and she knew what he lacked and did the same. It was second nature and not something another wolf could easily pick up on the fly. But she was getting older now; was middle aged even; and she was used to the way people reacted to them. Haziel was seen as a fragile danger to himself and she was seen as slow or stupid by those who knew nothing about them but their deficiencies. She should be used to it but she wasn’t...not entirely. Shaking her head to fight off another yawn as she still had a way to go before she could rest her head, Sera picked her way toward a stream she remembered that meandered through the woodlands. Maybe the cool water would help keep her more alert and a drink wouldn’t hurt either.

Once she reached the stream, Seraphina paused to drink, letting the cool water soothe her parched throat. It’d been a while since she’d done so much talking. Her interaction with others while she was on the search for their brother had been intermittent at best. Having a full conversation with someone was something else. Once she’d refreshed herself, however, a spurt of energy grabbed hold of her and combined with her excitement at the thought of seeing Haziel again. With an odd, toneless boof, Sera took of splashing down the stream in the rapidly approaching dusk, for a moment free of cares as she splashed her way southish.
