I gave a small shake of my head, amused by Tyrion's demeanor. He was unique, charming in his own right, and somehow I did not doubt that there was at least some kind of truth to the words he spoke. Perhaps even some truth to the song he'd been singing. And as it were, it would have been hard to mistake the golden yearlings running about on the mountainside as anything other than his offspring. Alas, it was no longer my place to pry, instead choosing to enjoy the company he offered.

Our meeting over the winter had ended up being rather fortuitous, kindling a friendship between two elder wolves of the pack. While I enjoyed the company of my older brother Sleekwing just fine, there were not many other wolves my age around the pack these days. It was nice to spend time in Tyrion's company, for he seemed not to expect anything from it other than conversation. Others, who had lived many years with me as their Queen, regarded me differently. Tyrion, however, treated me as a friend, while still affording me the respect of a former Queen.

We fell into stride with ease, and I nodded my head as he welcomed my company. "Indeed," I mused in response to his comment about the weather, the tone of his voice causing a grin to pick at the edges of my maw. A short laugh followed his remark. "Surely not!" I said in mock abhorrence at the prospect. "With so many years between us, there must be many a tale to be told of greater interest than the weather." Brows lifted expectantly as I looked at him. "Perhaps one from your youth?"
