Matianak grinned. She definitely had her claws in by the sound of his voice. "Ah, you are still a little too young for that trick. You don't want to stay in too young of a form after all," she teased. She did not deny liking the attention, it merely allowed her to weave her web around Triton even more. Sure, she actually liked the boy, even if it was for selfish reason.
"I'm sure you will," she said with a reaffirming nod. "But you know you can't always be nice about getting what you need, right? Sometimes you have to lie to people so as not to hurt them or make sure they don't get hurt." Her tone was a bit more grave at the notion of it, like it wasn't always a good thing to lie. Matianak herself was prone to lies by omission or twisting the truth. It was a necessity after all, in order to acquire appropriate information.
She watched Triton with a curious eye, choosing to elaborate before he had the potential chance to ask. "Even in diplomacy, you have to occasionally twist the truth to your own and the pack's benefit. Your father tells me you aren't so good at that," she said with a slightly raised brow, wanting to gauge his reaction before continuing on that line of conversation.
The woman's tail waved at the mention of him making friends. Rather, it was the specificity of it being a girl. That meant younger wolf. This line of information quite readily piqued her interest. "Don't know, or don't remember? Good diplomats need to remember key things, like names," she chastised lightly. Matianak was not trying to talk down to him regarding it, but rather using it as more of a lesson. If he wanted to be a diplomat, he would need to remember pertinent information. "All the same, I am glad to see you make friends. A large circle is always good to have."
