Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

She didn't know a lot about Dash. For all she knew, he had a group of friends that he hunted with, but somehow she doubted it. He was a survivor but when she brought up food, it seemed like a sensitive subject, like he didn't see a lot of it. That pointed more to being a scavenger, though she couldn't know for sure. He didn't talk about himself a lot. Hopefully she could change that with time and trust. She liked the idea of hunting with her imprint. They were already synced through their souls so that should make it easier, right? She knew what he was feeling and though she couldn't read his mind, she was getting good at reading his reactions.

What she couldn't read was the up and down of his own frustration. It was like every reaction she gave him only made him more frustrated. Even when she was trying to soothe him, he only grew more agitated. Did he not want her to agree with him? She was still so new to this whole imprint thing but she wanted to get it right. She genuinely liked Dash and the fact that he didn't make himself universally likable somehow only endeared him more to her. He was a challenge and didn't trust easy. She liked challenges. She didn't want to tame him or change him. She wanted to know him. She wanted to gain his trust. She wasn't afraid of him, not in the slightest. She knew that Dash would never want to hurt her. Somehow she knew that without a doubt. She wanted to get along with him, to make this work.

Her focus shifted as the fawn went to the ground beneath her weight. This was it. The adrenaline burst through her system. Once the fawn was down, it was as good as done. Now she just had to deliver the killing blow. Dash was doing a good job of handling the thrashing legs. She could see the determination in his eyes. She tried to keep an eye on the hooves too but she was determined to end the fawn's suffering so she couldn't stay out of reach and kill it too. She'd have to risk it. She heard the whoosh of air as the fawn kicked a front hoof toward her, only to hear an answering snarl as Dash began jerking on the leg that tried to kick her. She felt her chest tighten at the protective gleam in his eyes. They barely knew each other, but already she knew he would never let anything happen to her.

And yet in this position, she couldn't defend him as well. She grabbed hold of the fawn's throat but but felt the wince more than she heard the growl, her gaze lifting to see a new mark on his shoulder. She snarled now, tightening her grip even more. The fawn's struggling slowed before finally ceasing altogether and she knew that finally it was eternally laid to rest. They had done it. They killed a fawn together. Pride and joy rose in her throat as she released the fawn's neck, lifting her head to beam at Dash. "We did it!" Barking in joy, she pounced at him, aiming to tackle him and lick his cheek before she'd get off and prance circles around the corpse. Finally she took a seat and licked her blood stained muzzle. "Hey, Dash. I'll let you in on a little secret. This was my first hunt with someone else. I've watched them and been taught how to by my family but they never let me take part cause I was too young. We're a great team!" Her eyes glittered.
