He watched the young male pup exit the den with curiosity. The markings were interesting to say the least, and the crimson marking under his eye had to have come from his father figure because he didn't see that marking on Hircine. The pup smelled of her and Cuirass knew this to be her den. He'd been keeping a close eye on her since bringing her to Asteraia. After all, he was entrusting her to be loyal to the pack and offering sanctuary to her family. It was only natural that he would want to make sure she upheld her part of the deal and stayed loyal. He wouldn't be the one to bring a traitor into the pack. He'd done too much for it already. True, he had been a little lax on his duties as of late, taking a break, so to speak. But that wouldn't last long. He had waited too long to meet his newest captive at the borders and surely Noroi had escaped by now. So he would just have to steal more in Noroi's place. Good thing there was plenty of wolves to go around in Moladian.
He was a little irritated that it wasn't his own pup exiting the den to explore the rest of the pack today. Belhara had been playing extra hard to get this past winter and in the end, she never got big with new life. He wanted his bloodline to flourish. He knew he was no spring chicken anymore, though he'd never dare to say he was getting older. He still had plenty of life left in him, and plenty of things to give. He wanted a legacy and Belhara was the perfect one to give it to him. If only she would cooperate. One more year would have to go by before he could try again but he damn sure wouldn't fail this time. Belhara did good with kids. He'd seen her mothering skills with those little weirdos in Iromar, teaching them how to talk to stars or whatever. She would make a good mother. And he would be an amazing father, he was sure of it.
Instead he'd had to adopt a son and raise him, pretty fine, if he said so himself. But Boneskull would never be blood, no matter how proud he made him. He finally stood and walked toward the boy. But the boy had other ideas. He took off into the long grass which swallowed him up whole. Cuirass smirked. He sure was tiny. He followed after silently, watching as the boy tried to make up his mind on where he wanted to go. At one point, Cuirass thought he might go over the borders and into the tundra, but then he seemed to think better of it. Snorting softly, Cuirass moved toward him once more. "Can't make up your mind on what to do first? The world is pretty overwhelming at first, am I right?"
