Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Fear Makes People Do Terrible Things

_________________________________________________________________________

Life had been boring as of late for the young male. He had not gone out to do much exploring or adventuring of the lands like he used to. Normally he liked to go out of the packlands and stretch his limbs, but he had just not been feeling up to lately. He wasn’t sure what slump he was in…but all he knew was that he was in one. Maybe it was because he felt that his life had no purpose. When he was younger his purpose was to train and learn how to better himself. Now he felt…nothing. And he had no friends to try and talk to or go out on adventures with…so he often found himself just staying in his den, or at least very near to it. It had been months since his last interaction with another being, and it had been….awkward ending to his encounter with Briseis. Lupin wished he could have done more to comfort the femme, but instead he had been his typical awkward self. When he saw the form of the female up in the mountains he never imagined that he would end up mating with her, but one thing led to another and he found himself letting his testosterone driven instincts take over. He had never been with a femme before, and while it was different it was something that he now understood why mated pairs made love. He was not in love with Briseis, but he also didn’t feel nothing for her. She had shared some of her past with him, and he felt bad for what she had gone through but also angry towards the male that felt he could abuse her.

Even though Lupin’s last memory with Briseis was one of her crying, he still remembered how beautiful she had been. He had meant to go out and find her again, he really had. But for whatever reason he never did, he had never been able to get himself to leave his den and seek her out again. He hoped that she didn’t think he had lied to her and just taken advantage of her for sex, or that he was now afraid because her master was a vampire. But if he didn’t find her to try and explain then she would never know what really happened. Would he even be able to find her though? He had no idea where she lived, or if she even wanted to see him again. He wouldn’t blame her if she never wanted to see him again after what had happened when he just left when she was obviously hurting. He wouldn’t be surprised if she was purposefully making it so he couldn’t find her. Lupin was mad at himself for being so rude, but he just didn’t know what to do to comfort her. But he should have tried harder. Maybe this was why he had no friends. Shaking his scarred head the brute tried to push out the bad feelings, focusing instead on finally seeking out the femme. He had to find her to apologize and see if she could forgive him enough for them to try and be friends.

Light brown paws carried the male through the familiar trees as he tried to find any lingering scent of Briseis. He had no idea where to begin looking for her, so he headed back to the mountains where they first met. It was as good a place to start as any. After some time searching, Lupin was surprised that he caught the strong familiar scent of the female. He had no expected her to be back here, but it seemed that she too had wandered back to the mountains. Maybe luck was finally on his side and he would be able to find her to apologize. Picking up his pace now that he had a scent to follow, the brute quickly came to a hole in the ground that strongly held Briseis’ scent. But it was different than when he first met her, though he couldn’t figure out why. Stepping forward, he heard a growl as he approached her. Pausing before taking another step forward he spoke up so she would know it was him, hopefully allowing him to speak to her again. ”Briseis…it’s Lupin. I’m sorry about leaving before…I just want to talk if you’ll let me?” He wanted to wait for her permission, but he inched a bit closer, hoping that she would come out of the hole she was in so they could actually speak. He did not yet realize what had happened…that she was in this hole because she was protecting her young…his young…their young. Being a father was not even on the brute’s radar…and he was in for a surprise once he realized what was really going on.
