The thought of skinning an animal had apparently repulsed Laenaya, but the entry fee still had to be paid... even if Draven needed to force her to do it. And so, Draven had ordered her to do it - first to hunt down a rabbit, then snap its neck, and then strip its skin from its scalp. It had been a rather interesting process - not as quick nor as neat as when Draven himself had done it. But then again, he had been skinning things for years, and this was Laenaya‘s first time. She cried the entire time, and Draven had nearly laughed at her before ordering her to hurry it up. The ears had gotten ripped off… Sort of. There were still some types of skin on the inside of the canal, but the cartilage remained an awkward formation so that one could still tell that it was a rabbit… But it looks like something out of a nightmare. The muscle was torn to bits, shredded by her lack of skill, leaving puncture wounds and excoriations that were dark with dried blood… But it was done, and he would now not need to give up his Mesmer. And even now, he was making her follow after him. As they finally entered the territory. Draven had put it off, even after Sindicate had excepted him into the pack even though he knew that Laenaya could not go against his commands, he wanted her on a short leash nonetheless. If another vampire were to turn her… He would have no sway over her, and thus his plan to have her as a future gift for Sindicate to get to taste would be ruined… And he would have to go through the entire process of finding another wolf who succumbed to his hypnosis. It was such a bother really, and a bore. It had been interesting with some wolves – like Briseis… but Laenaya was rather… boring. But it any rate, she had her kill now… And speaking of…
They finally reached a plateau by the border where he had previously laid out Drizzt‘s corpse and skinned the ex-tempest’s skull. The dead bodywas still fresh, only a day old, but already the flies had gathered. Such a pity… For such a pure white coat to be left here to be devoured by the bugs and the maggots and defiled by the environment. Draven ordered Laenaya to drop her kill and ordered her instead to pin down Drizzt‘s corpse so that she could hold the dead weight still while he skinned the rest of what once was Drizzt. The vampire made short work of it too - without the fresh tissues, the pelts slid off that much easier, but he knew he would have to be careful in drying it. If he was not careful, it would rot instead of dry, and no one liked the smell of dead things. Grotesquely, he draped the skin across Laenaya‘s back, causing her to wail and sob, but he certainly did not want to drag it the whole way himself – it would be far too much work, and so she was forced to walk with the pelt upon her back, the old coagulated blood dripping down her in dark jelly globs, staining her hairs. If it had not been so horrifying, it would’ve been funny to onlookers - she was carrying a partially skinned rabbit in her mouth where only the head was missing its skin… And was wearing the bodysuit of a wolf. Like some sort of hybrid… Only instead she been forced to become part of a freak horse show.
Draven snapped at her and ordered her to pick up the pace, and soon enough the pelt was sticking to her for it had dried, and she nearly threw up. Draven laughed at her before forcing her to continue on… Continue on that is until finally they made it to where Sindicate had called from. In the pack for only a day and already there was a pack meeting? What was this going to be, a session of Kumbaya? Were they to speak about their feelings and bond so that they were stronger as a pack because they were all to be goody goody two shoe friends? Draven snarled and scoffed - the idea was an annoyance, and not one he was particularly looking forward to. But… Perhaps it would not be quite so bad, for Sindicate did not seem very much like the touchy-feely type… At any rate, Draven and Laenaya finally made their way to the pack meeting, and the vampire ignored the other wolves that were there aside from the king. He had no use for them, not yet at least, his only concern was the king himself. Draven gestured to the ground and Laenaya thankfully dropped the carcass out of her mouth. He then turned his attention to Sindicate - the king had not been pleased the last time that Draven had met him with less than his due respect - but at that point, Draven had not yet been accepted into the pack. It was different now. The vampire made a short bow, and dipped his head in greeting before standing upright.
“Gathering the masses, are we? I forced my little… Pawn here to bring a sacrifice of her own, so that she could be counted among your numbers as well. For however short her… Time here is, at least it will be done appropriately. Her name is Laenaya, but you may call her ‘slave’ for all I care. ” The vampire moved to Laenaya‘s side and stripped of the pelt off of her, ripping some of her own hair and flesh off at the same time. She screamed and Draven chuckled to himself as he laid the pelt out, hair side down, flush side up, so the sun could start to dry it out. “I thought I would start my own collection anew … I like to have skins lining my bed.” Draven chuckled to himself before turning to the other wolves and finally addressing them. “Draven. Charmed.” He turned his attention to Sindicate. “So what now, King Sin?”
