Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

aren't you tired of all of the violence inside of you?
son of ava and covet, son of nowhere, guardian of no one

He had gone to Asteraia seasons ago but she hadn't responded and yet, he knew she was still around. No, she hadn't died or vanished but rather, she just hadn't answered him. Was it because she had encountered trouble? Or did she simply not want to meet him again? Or had he been totally wrong in assuming she was even in Asteraia anymore? She had talked a lot about how loyal she was but...then again, being his soul didn't mean she couldn't be a liar. It frustrated him, that much he couldn't deny. Bitterly, part of him hoped she felt that frustration.

But he had no other choice than to just keep living. Come fall, he had decided to move closer to the interior of the lands, no longer wanting to tough it out in the north come the winter months. Fall had been colder already and he had grown thankful to have found himself several nice dens to curl up in...but still. He was surrounded by packs. That made him a bit anxious, particularly when Iromar had been challenged for and taken. The idea of a wild, angry Eve on the prowl? It was enough to make him walk a little more cautiously as he shuffled about the fields in search of some of his buried caches.

But the smell of Asteraia was an immediate distraction even as he began to dig into the cold earth; anything to do with Jinx was more important than a little food, after all. His head lifted immediately, ears forward and nose twitching as he drank in the scent of the fields. And then, without even realizing, he had taken off at an awkward lope after the stranger. Pack wolves had to behave a little, right? Especially when they were in the free lands. So, nothing to worry about. Or so he thought with a snaggled smirk.

"Hey you, Asteraia wolf!" He called out after the piebald male, slowing only enough to show he was no direct threat. Instead, he gave the customary shake of his tail though the expression didn't meet his face. "You're from the plains, right? Are you a somebody there?"
